DIRECTOR CHRISTA DURAND

I was born in Paris in 1989 and grew up between Auvergne, New Caledonia, and Morocco — a life in motion that shaped my instinct for storytelling through images. With a camera in hand since childhood, I learned to turn light, rhythm, and emotion into visual narratives.

After studying Contemporary Media Practice at Westminster University in London, where I lived for five years and started my creative career, I developed a passion for blending sound, image, and story into immersive experiences.

Now based in Berlin, I work as a video content creator, director, and visual artist, specializing in storytelling across music, art, and documentary. My work explores the dialogue between sound and image — blending authenticity, movement, and atmosphere.

I direct, shoot, and edit projects for musicians, collectives, and cultural initiatives, always focusing on connecting with audiences and building strong visual identities.

I’m the founder of “Ratelier”, a multidisciplinary art collective, and the creator of “Black Owls”, a Berlin-based techno label. Collaboration and experimentation are at the core of my practice — I’m constantly exploring how sound and image can merge to create powerful, emotional experiences.
